

Polar earned yet another design award with the dashing Polar FT80 when Fennia Prize 2009 Competition announced its results today. The jury, consisting of experts in design, industry, trade and media, paid careful attention to high-quality design knowhow and as well to the aesthetic characteristics of the entries, their suitability in their visual environment and the way the products communicate desired values and meanings. In addition to the recognized Fennia Prize 2009, FT80 had already been awarded with the coveted iF product design award 2009 and Plus X Award for excellent design. This flagship product was also nominated to the Plus X Award Hall of Fame.
Design Forum Finland and the Fennia Group organize the Fennia Prize Competition biannually. This year the internationally esteemed Fennia Prize took place for the tenth time and the winning products were awarded at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. The purpose of the Fennia Prize is to support the manufacturing of high-standard products and to promote the competitiveness and internationalization of the industry. The objective is to present well-designed products and to encourage companies to apply design in a comprehensive and interactive manner in product development, manufacturing and the corporate image. Prize-winning companies and products are included in the Fennia Prize exhibition which will tour internationally, starting with Design Forum Finland as its first venue.
