"Over the last 5 years I have had a goal of a sub 1:40 half marathon. Each year I had taken a minute or two off my time until I had a best time of 1:41:55 in mid 2009. However, I still hadn't achieved my goal. My problem was I always went out too hard and paid for it in the last 5 km. I started using my Polar RS200 in 2009 and in February this year ran 1:37:38. My heart monitor helped me to pace myself and to stay in a HR zone where I could maintain an even pace over the whole distance. It was an awesome feeling achieving my goal and taking over 4 minutes off my best time. I really like the ability to record my splits for each km and review this later. The RS200 heart monitor has definitely helped my training as I can use it to pace myself during intervals or tempo runs and get the best out of my training sessions. Even better I am running faster than ever before over a whole range of distances. Now I am thinking about 1:35..."
