Kempele, Finland – 19. October, 2009 – Polar, market leader and pioneer in heart rate training technology, has launched the new FT7 and FT4 training computers, providing the active exerciser with an easy introduction to heart rate-based training.
The new FT7 and FT4 are ideal for anyone participating in a wide range of activities, and help improve fitness and make the training more motivating. The sleek new design makes these training computers appealing to a wide range of users, while the easy-to-use feature-set makes them the perfect introduction to heart rate-based training.
By giving the user clear training guidance, the FT7 is the ideal choice for anyone wanting to enjoy their exercise sessions and who also has an eye on achieving their goals. The EnergyPointer feature tells the user if the main effect of their training is fitness improvement or fat burning. This feature counts the center point of these two training effects based on heart rate variability and visually indicates if the heart rate is below or above the point. When the heart rate is below the point, the user is improving their fat burning. And above the point, the user improves their aerobic fitness.
The FT7 also displays the amount of calories burned during the exercise session, plus has connectivity with the online training diary, polarpersonaltrainer.com, via the optional Polar FlowLink. In this online training diary the user can interact with other active people, analyze training results with versatile graphs, get online training guidance, and store training and test data allowing them to follow their long-term progress.
The FT4 is perfect for those who want to keep their training simple with just the basic heart rate features. It shows when the user is improving their fitness, giving a clear view when the heart rate is in the desired zone. Also the FT4 counts and displays the amount of burned calories.
Both new Polar training computers come with the comfortable Polar WearLink textile transmitter that measures the heart rate and transmits it to the training computer. Each transmitter is individually coded to ensure that the training computer picks up the correct heart rate, eliminating any cross-over during group exercise or when there are several training computers in the same area.
“With the FT7 and FT4, you will get an easy introduction to heart rate-based training,” said Jan Mueller, Fitness & Cross-Training Segment Manager for Polar Electro Oy. “Getting the most out of your training doesn’t always mean working faster or harder. The best way to improving your fitness and seeing results is to train at the right intensity. This is exactly what you’ll get with the FT7 and FT4.”
On sale through authorized Polar retailers from [insert month here] 2009, the FT7 will be available in black and blue color options. The FT4 will also have two color options, silver and bronze. All sets include the WearLink textile transmitter, and a quick guide. Polar FlowLink can be purchased separately as an accessory for the FT7.
